YOGA BACKGROUND: Ann Louise Moxey, born in Argentina of British parents, took up yoga in 1991 to combat stress related to her work as a Foreign Correspondent. She worked in Television and Radio for 25 years and was the first woman appointed to the post as Latin American Bureau Chief for Reuters TV (formerly Visnews), later working in the area for European, US and Latin Broadcasters. She started teaching yoga to Street Kids in Mexico City while completing her Social Service for a US University degree in Psychology. While completing post graduate studies (Specialization in Addictions) she trained with John Friend, Desikachar, Trish O`Reilly, Rodney Yee, Donna Fahri and Dona Holleman. Her teaching has been mainly influenced by John Friend.
She developed and led a group therapy dynamic which she called "Meditation Therapy" for patients in the five week program at the Rehab Clinic Monte Fenix, where she had originally trained as a Specialist in Addictions. She gives courses for professionals in the field in the use of Hatha Yoga for Addictions.
